Miss you mummy..

I Turned and tossed in bed all night..
memories flooding my mind,great memories,
Today reminds us of what we lost 13 years ago
We lost our Cheer leader, our rock, our support system
our Mummy..

I remember when daddy broke the news to me
I had just come home from boarding school
and he held me and said..mummy died 5am this morning
I screamed,I cried but only for a little while
I said to myself..I had to be strong,I had to make mummy proud
I had to take care of daddy, barbie and peter..
That day...I made up my mind..I'll make you proud mummy..

13 years down the road..I hope am making you proud mummy.

I remember the peace I felt and the assurance of the holy spirit that night
HE SPOKE THESE WORDS:I WOULD BE A MOTHER TO THE MOTHERLESS
AND A FATHER TO THE FATHERLESS.
yes lord..you have been a mother to me,you have been my everything
you have brought along the way many great women who have been
mothers to me..for this I am truly thankful lord..

Even though I still miss you mum...I know I am a better person
because of your absence..
I missed you at my graduation, falling in love, getting married
having a baby..yes mummy...I missed you and still do
but I know you have been watching and cheering on with a big smile on your
face from heaven..

As long as we have memories the ones we love are never far from us..
they are only a thought away..
you are always in my heart and in my thoughts
I sure would make you proud..

For all those reading who have lost a parent or loved one..
God would be your comfort..
A father to the fatherless, mother to the motherless
He would wipe your tears away and heal your hurt..

For those whose parents are still here..don't wait till they
are gone to show how much they mean to you.
call right now to say I love you dad,pay mum a visit don't wait a second
send a message...Value them while you can.
God bless and preserve your Home.

My Case Is Different...

Shutting my eyes I can vividly remember every time someone has tried to discourage me from launching out or dreaming big based on someone else's experience or failure... sometimes it has been said unconsciously, without even thinking... The moment you mention your intention and desires, there is always someone who is ready with an example of someone else's story... Who says I have to apply 10 times before I get a visa to a foreign country Who says I have to have a god-father before I get that dream job Who says I have to attend 5 interviews and receive 5 rejections before I get the job Who says I have to wait and wait, fall into wrong hands and then learn from my mistakes before I eventually  find my prince charming.. Who says I have to have connections to get ahead in life... My case is different... I am not a statistic...my case is different The fact that it happened to 4 or 6 people you know doesn't mean it would happen to me my c...

I AM NOT DEAD YET

I am not much of the gardening type as much as I love flowers and pot plants, It takes quite a bit of an effort for me to give the flowers and pot plants in my front yard the attention they deserve... but I must admit they add such beauty and charm to my front yard. lately I have just been too pre-occupied with all that has been happening in my life and around me to even notice that I have plants to feed and nurture.. 2 weeks ago I noticed that they had all withered and the leaves were dry, brittle and falling, especially with the summer.. I sighed in regret..if only I wasn't too consumed with myself maybe my lovely front yard would have been preserved. I gave up,maybe it was too late to salvage the situation. I might just try I said to myself and see what difference it makes.. I set out a couple of days ago to water the plants...I had just a small bowl of water.. and as I went back inside to get more water..I got distracted and never got round to fully watering the...

Who is your father?

Who is your father? I remember the first time I travelled to my village without my parents I must have been in primary school and my dearest grandmother of blessed memory insisted my parents brought me over for the weekend. Village life really and truly intrigued me, I loved the simplicity of communal living and how content everyone seemed, food was eaten fresh from the farms, with the large itigidi river providing fresh fish and water, and in the evenings, a dozen children would gather in my granny’s living room to watch a DVD, what was there not to like, for a child living in the city and raised overseas, village life was exciting, refreshing and alluring. That was the first of many visits, the older i got,  my grandmother became the most influential woman in my life, especially as I had lost my mother at age 14. She was wise, inspiring and I picked up my literary prowess from her as she and my mum piqued my interest in books. She would make me write letters to her and...
